Unhappy do I have to become a fluff chucker?

Had a s***y day at work today so decided to have a few hours on the avon to calm down.
Now there is a brown trout of aprox 2lb in there I had my eys on for weeks.
I observed him alot, found his fav feeding swim, fed him a few times to see which bait he prefers and how he feeds.
So as you can see, I tried to do my homework.

No matter how hard I try (and I'm not the only angler) Mr. Trout just won't play the game...and I want him sooo badly.
Guess help is required here....please he is driving me round the bend

If as I suspect, you are fishing Lords Walk at Amesbury. The water here is shallow & usually very clear. I expect he's seen quite a few floats & rigs being chucked at him by the local kids. Try fishing a crystal (Clear plastic) waggler float & a flourocarbon hooklength of about 6lb with a size 12 speciemin hook. Feed a few maggots to build up his confidence & then trot your rig over him. Keep well back from the bank so he cannot see your sillouete or shadow. Trout are fairly greedy fish, but these tactics should sort him out. If maggot dos'nt work, try worm or bread.

yes Ian lordswalk, kept well away hiding behind the bluming nettle bushes, got the scars to prove it, even wore my camo...guess you right, Mr. Trout must have gone wise on all the tackles but I'm not giving up!!!

Re: do I have to become a fluff chucker?

i would do what green heart said and get his confidence up first and trickle free offering down to him this could take a while but i don,t think patience will be a problem .
but stealth and patience will pay dividend in the end
example when i,ve been floater fishing for carp i,ve been feeding them free offering for a couple of hours before i,ve offered them a hook bait as some times you only get one shot don,t waste it .

good luck and happy hunting allready waiting for the report you can call it twiddler and the trout

Thanks Kev, I guess dogwalkers and jogges running/walking passed asking stupid questions like 'caught anything yet' don't help, why don't these ppl understand that anglers don't want to be disturbed...ignorent folks sometime lol.......
I certainly will not give up, I got my eye on that fella and I usually get what I want.....if not I'll spit my dummy stamp my feet and screem until he volunteerily jumps into my net lol

Re: do I have to become a fluff chucker?

lol you say about other people twiddler i was carp fishing this water a few years back an i knew the carp on the west bank came right into the shallow water to feed .
so one night i creep down slower placed a freelined bait and retreated a couple of yards and laid flat and did not move and watched for the line to move .
this guy saw me laying there crouched down and slowly came towards me on all fours his first action was to whisper slowly (have you caught any thing yet ?) i did not answer his next move was to pull out a ciggy and light it.
to this day i,m not sure who jump higher the bloke or the carp which was a foot away to say the least i was a bit peeved with the guy .
(not just dog walker anglers some time don,t think why other do what they do .
nice browny ian
