Always been beyond me why tackle shops arent open sundays or at least in the morning.

Around my way they are all shut , yet open monday and must take £50. I know if I was a shop then sundays would be go as how often do you think sod it I going fishing yet if you have not got your bait on saturday then youve had it

Ok rant over

Re: Tackle Shops open on Sunday

the tackle shops round here are all shut so I cannot buy a day ticket yet in my old home town of poole they all open on Sunday mornings. Being shut means there is an excuse for not having a ticket when the baliff comes round ( in two months of fishing day ticket I have yet to see a baliff), I vote we push for a change in the law to allow free rights if the shop is shut, would soon make them open up !!

Re: Tackle Shops open on Sunday

I'm sure they're more likely to get business on a Sunday than a weekday. Makes you wonder

Re: Tackle Shops open on Sunday

I agree, OPEN the tackleshops sunday morning, alot of people just want to go out in a spur of the moment (specially when to want to clear the head after a pub crawl the night before, or when the missus/master starts nagging too much)

Re: Tackle Shops open on Sunday

My local one makes sure he is open all day Sunday, says he makes a lot in bait sales and other bits and pieces whilst you are there etc. to pay the staff and told me that he feels he has an obligation to his customers to open on a Sunday for bait needs so top marks to him - Allans Marine in Portsmouth

Re: Tackle Shops open on Sunday

It's ok for the people who do sea/shore fishing, as cuckoo and other sea fishing anglers says their tackle shops are at least open on sunday morning, the others are not so lucky

Re: Tackle Shops open on Sunday

I just had a great idea.

Why not have emergency tackle shops open on a rota basis like chemists do,

never know when you are going to need a fishing fix

I wonder, could I get bait on the nhs to feed this addiction, bit like the junkies and their methadone???
