Stranraer - Newcastle

hi

just back from norway (report to follow), i got the boat in newcastle and i was noticing that it only to 4 hrs to get from stranraer to newcastle. i would like to come to england to go carp fishing. But my favourite lake (Barford Lakes) is to far away for just a weekend. i was wondering if there was any good carp fisheries on the way to newcastle or near newcatle that would be worth coming to visit.

thanks Blackwater
