home made

i wonder if any of you when buying or any fox rods get them in them long triangled shaped hard cases
like this one below

well have and i then just put the cases in the shed or in the attic and the never get to see the light of day again well heres an great idea that i used one of the cases for.
first measure from the top about fifteen inches and saw it off then carefully remove the bottom triangle of the long section and then glue and tape it to the bottom of the 15 inch section so it looks like this

now you have a useful container to keep things like your drop off indicators in its surprising how many times i,ve been ask where people can buy this container i tell em i made it myself from the fox rod tube .

any way just thought it was a good idea and i would share it with you guys
the good thing about it its really hard waring and it keep long items from getting damaged i made mine 3 years ago and the indicators still look as good as new

tightlines

Re: home made

have you seen the price of the rig tubes in the shops, you know, the ones that you wrap your pike traces around and secure it with a pin and slide it back into a nice little carry tube.
for the last 20 years i have used my own home made version.
find i cylindrical biscuit tin with a lid, mine was for chocolate digestives and glue inside the lid a length of pipe lagging, hey presto, you have a rig bin,i just hold the swivels in place with a drawing pin.
mark 2 rig bin is half built,i got the tin from a boot fair for 10p and it will store all the pike trcaes i need for the whole of the winter.

Re: home made

well as you know paul i like every thing FOX but i never did like the round tubs but when the fox predator stiff wallet came out (£22 )i just had to have one

as you can see from the pics it will hold a lot of rigs and also it keeps them straight and very easy to clearly see which one you want to select

it has a two compartment so it very spacious so you can have lots of different rigs made up unlike the one you are on about i think its made by gardener and it will only hold ten made up where as i normally will have anything around 40 various rigs made up
