Smile Pumpkinseed?

Anyone know where I can catch a Pumpkinseed in the south of England for the species hunt? Not heard of any being caught around the West Wilts area. No wise cracks about buying a pumpkin in my local fruit & veg shop please!!!

Re: Pumpkinseed?

Pumpkinseed located in
southern England in the counties of West Sussex, East Sussex,
Surrey and Somerset (Fig. 1). These sites were selected because
they were known to contain pumpkinseeds, and all but one are
located in the catchments of the Sussex Ouse and Thames
rivers. Eighteen of the sites were either ponds or small lakes
and the nineteenth was a stream.
Although pumpkinseeds are present in a number of streams in
the Ouse catchment (only a 750m section
of the upper reaches of Batts Bridge Stream (Sussex Ouse
catchment), situated between two on-stream ponds, yielded a
sufficient number of pumpkinseeds to permit growth and lifehistory
analysis.
