after further looking around i found the maggots had broken out of a sealed maggot box and a cool bag and my fishing bag and were making them selfs well and truely at home in my car
just spent the last 3 hours hovering them all up, had to take out all the back seats, the spare tyre, all the matts, in fact everything which wasnt pinned down, and only 1/2 pint of maggots escaped and im sure in afew days time the car will be full of flies still
so word of warning, maggots are slipperly little gits, especialy if they get in your car!!!
would never of happened if they were rag worms
Bet you ain't caught em all ben!!! Went to a big match once in Germany & some guy had the whole teams bait in a big bucket in the back of his car. You can guess the rest....LOL

Re: Maggots, AHHHH!!!!!!

i used to keep my maggots in the fridge all the time, the missus wasn't impressed but tolerated it until .......
one morning i came downstairs ,opened the fridge to be greeted by a pink wriggling mass,a whole pint of pinkies had got out of a baitbox and were everywhere, unfortunately the wife chose that moment to walk in the kitchen.
there were pinkies in the lettuce,in the cheese and even one had found its way into the marge.
she wasn't a happy bunny
needless to say they don't go in the fridge any more

Re: Maggots, AHHHH!!!!!!

the flys will hatch in a couple of weeks and you will have some company for about a week
i have done this twice now ,well once me once my mate not closing the mag box right
did the 3 hour vacuum and strip the car thing did it again a few days later to get the casters out but still had around 200 flys to keep me company

a good tip is to get some cat litter and put it in low points in the car like under the rear seats as the change to casters involves a load of water(well i'll call it water ) and it honks the cat litter absorbs it and keeps the smell down
