| Re: Carp Fishing Help! well firstly welcome to the forum and i hope you get what you are looking for as there are many on here who will help . now as i,m not sure what you arer asking tips about i,m generalise some for you firstly fish with confidence and keep bank side noise to the minimum . also watch the water for signs of carp don,t be scared to up sticks as this can be very productive also give yourself every oppunity where baits are concern in other words take a selection as sometimes a bait change might be all is needed . also don,t be affraid to also change methods as again this can also be enough . location is an important part of carping and being able to to find feature is important so don,t just chuck out and hope for the best . now i know this was not what you were asking for but they are very important in how you approach your fishing may be there are some out there who might be able to add to what i have said . as i said right at the start there are some good carp angler on here who will certainly come along aand help even more tightlines baitmaster ![]() |

| Re: Carp Fishing Help! Hi Drew 2006, Welcome to the Forum. Unfortunately I am not a course fisherman and cannot help in any way. Don't despair, some of the lads will help you in due course. Most of them are working and only go online when time permits, so be patient. There are quite a few youngsters on here and I am sure that they will make contact and introduce themselves. All the best for now. Cheers Drew __________________ All that Glitters is not Gold |

| Re: Carp Fishing Help! First welcome to the fishing forum Quote:
IF you fish your lake regular then watch others . See where they fish / how far out and what rigs they are using . The best times to get fish are first thing in the morning or late evening . Carp are not easy fish to catch but they will come it just takes time __________________ Richard|Sea Fishing |Carp Fishing| Spud Gun | Zander fishing | Fishing Reports | Hunting Reports |

| Re: Carp Fishing Help! Hi Drew2006 If I can re-emphasise on the good advise from baitmaster as what he says about location is so important. Always keep your eyes open for fish moving, tails out of the water, mud clouds from feeding fish, reeds parting, fish rolling, weed beds and lily pads lifting slightly etc… If you don’t see or catch any carp, especially during the day, they could be stationary in “holding areas” such as behind reed beds or in a quite corner etc.., go and see if you can spot them. Climb a tree if possible for a better look, but don’t spook them. Look for where they enter and exit these areas and how and when they move around the lake, as that is where your bait should be. If you have spare time to visit your venue just to look for carp then it will pay off by taking note of hot spots. Remember this in order of importance. Location, presentation then last of all baits. In other words the best rig with the best bait fished in the wrong location will catch little or nothing. Good luck. |

| Welcome to the forum Drew. I find that on a lot of commercial fisheries people are only interested in casting out as far as they can & ignore the margins right under their feet. Find a quiet corner with deepish water (2ft plus) & ideally an undercut bank or a feature like an overhanging bush or rushes. Sit well back from the bank. And try floatfishing a single grain of sweetcorn as tight to the bank or feature as you can. Feed half a dozen free grains of corn every 15 minutes or so. Plumb the depth carefully & set your float so your bait is just on the bottom & the float well shotted down. Clear crystal type floats are good for this. Make sure that your bait doe's not mask the hook point. Then sit back & hold on tight. This works at most heavily fished waters. Also try a bit of floating crust in the same areas. ![]() __________________ One man's fish is another man's poissons http://www.deepsea.co.uk http://www.wildtrout.org |
