| I am just getting back into fishing after a 10 year spell away from the sport. I need some advice on Pellets - which is a bait I am constantly reading about. Some are soft - you can hook straight on, some are hard - they need pellet bands. Some sink, some float, Expander Pellets???? Adding flavours Pellets pumps etc etc etc Sizes The list goes on and I am slightly baffled! Do you know of a site that has the different types of pellets explained. I want to try pellets in a few weeks time for the first time but I don't know where to start. I want pellets as loose feed but also as a hook bait. Any advice would be most appreciated. Money is no issue, so if I need bits and bobs (like a pump) to get the best out of the bait - then its not a problem. Nice 1 |

| Re: Pellets - An Explaination well as you said the world of pellets is now vast and very confusing most bait firms now supply them under there own company names and these are all probably the same but with different packaging . once you get off high oil pellets you got low oil pellet then you have you floater pellets again of all different sizes most of these are extruded pellets then you have your vegtable pellets your blood worm pelllets csl pellets them hemp pellets these all are pressed pellets and break down very quickly in the water . then you have your flavoured pellets if you weren,t confused you will now again loads of different companies sell and they will tell you that there,s are best . if you go to somewhere like hinders website they due explain there types of pellet and probably you will get a bit more info there http://www.hinders.co.uk/ but when buying any pellets they do go rancid and they do have a sell by date but when you buy them from a tackle shop you don,t know how old they are if i,m buying standard pellets like halibuts or trouts pellets, floater i buy them from a good pet shop and they do have the sell by date on them plus i buy in bulk so they are also cheaper i never store pellets for more than six month as these will normally be out of date . tightlines baitmaster |
