how quick would you jump in

sadly this has left me thinking is fishing worth all the hassle , although i,m trying to catch a big zed i still go and thoroughly enjoy my fishing .
but now i feel if i,m going to be looking over my shoulder to see who following me like a stalker lol ,it makes me feel uneasy to the point i might stop going if it continues ,but below is the scenario what would you do ?

my last four session zandering has seen the same angler fishing very near to me .and on my last session i cut a swim out in some reeds and fished it for the evening and blanked but with in less than a day the same angler was in the swim doing an all nighter , LOL sorry i,m laughing just find it amusing

my question is would you (A) GO BACK AND FISH IT IN THE HOPE HE THINKS ITS PRODUCING
( B) GO AND FISH ANOTHER AREA AND HOPE HE DOES NOT FIND YOU AGAIN

(C) JUST IGNORE HIM AND TAKE IT AS A COMPLIMENT THAT HE THINKS I KNOW WHAT I;M DOING AND KEEP LAYING THE FALSE TRAILS

(D) AS HE LIVES LESS THAN TWO MILE AWAY FROM ME INVITE HIM TO TRAVEL DOWN TO THE FENS WITH ME AND SHARE THE DIESEL COST LOL

Why go to all the hassle of ducking and diving leaving false trails BM.

He will find you sooner or later if he only lives two miles from you. He already knows the areas you fish.

Better to invite him to go fishing with you and give him some encouragement i.e. put him on some swims that produce (but not the one that holds your target weight Zed! ) fish. If he is following you then take it that he is struggling to catch fish and its a compliment to your reputation as a fish catcher.

Re: how quick would you jump in

just to put it into more of a context smoothy when i go i have to travel 62mile to the area i fish which is a round trip each session of 124 miles and to do this three times a week at least just for the evening to catch the species which i am very passionate about, so what i got more mithed about was that i had gone down walked three quarters of a mile to a spot and cut the swim out and then to go back the next day to find him already in it really gutted me the guy in question is also a big fish hunter who has relised i,m having a good season and has decided he can follow me and fish the area i have worked hard to create ,and this is why false trails get laid to lead these type of angler who want the rewards with out doing any of the work or prepared to share any infomation with ya .
as you know i,m trying to catch a zed of over fifteen pound how would i have felt if the night after i fished it he had we will say a sixteen pound fish i would have been gutted and he would have caught that fish without having to put any effort into thinking where they might be or clearing a swim .

Re: how quick would you jump in

I totally agree with ya there ben i don,t own the drain but its a bit annoying although i am taking it as a compliment in my ability to catch fish that he feels where i go is where he should fish for that dream fish too
but i have a few banker area,s which i have gained access to through private tracks with locked gates on them so its not a to bigger blow to my quest

I fully understand your position now BM. I would probably go and fish other areas and leave him to it for a while.

Then go back and see if he has been fishing your area, before you start again.

Its not going to be an easy thing for you to overcome and I would be p*ssed off with it as well.

Hi Kev,
Your neighbour probably thinks you are a right stuck up barsteward going all that way and not even talking to him.
I'm sure he would be only too happy to share the travelling costs with you.

Re: how quick would you jump in

hi jimdefruit

well not exactly a neibour but trust me he is a big fish hunter and has a big fish list that most if not all anglers would love to have ,but he has not yet caught a really big zed . i admire what he has achieved and i would like to think he does the same with my fish list and i take it as a great compliment that he feels that i.m on some big fish , how ever i feel that you should give anglers a bit of respect in the form if they have put in the hard work give them the space not jump straight into there swims whch they put the hard work in preparing .

any way i have now decided to go off and find new area to fish and cut new swims out as i feel that when i put in the work to find the fish and when i catch and get rewarded it makes the capture that little bit more sweeter.
