Buffers is on a distinguished road
Reel Line

Have read a couple of magazines lately who have run articles on loading reels. All recommend loading them to within a few millimetres of the spool edge. Some recommend loading fully from a bulk spool. I have also read that you can pack out a spool with cheaper line and attaching new line to it?

What do most people do, is it recommended to attach new line to old if so what knot is used?

Is it recommended that when the line gets low to replace completely and use the old stuff for hook lengths?

Re: Reel Line

when using braid unless you are minted put a mono backing on, otherweise the spoil wont fill and the diameter of the spoil will be very small for winding in
i personally dont see the point in putting mono backings for mono line unless it is very expencive stuff and you aint casting far
i always fill my spoil up just a little bit too much so that after the 1st couple of casts the stretch has gone out and it is on the reel tightly
