| which rod hey im very new to all of this so i as wondering could people offer their opinions.. whats the best type of rod for freshwater fishing / spinning? ive been told either graphite or fiberglass. which is the best strongest lightest and whatever else!! thanks     |

| Re: which rod Welcome to the forum. You cant really go too wrong with an Avon type rod with two tips. An avon tip and a quivertip. I have a john wilson heritage avon, and would be excellent for general purpose freshwater fishing and also light / medium spinning. I have happily caght carp upto 15 lb on it and also 2oz roach!
