Whip, 4 meter

Ive just bought a Whip for the 1st time, can someone tell me if i should fit an Elastic to it ?? and if so what strength should i fit , plus is it easy to fit, never had a Whip before any recommendations ??, looking at fishing up to 5lb

Well many many years since I used a whip and I fished straight for small fishing in comps where speed was the major factor fishing close in

I expect they have change a bit but the main reason for using a whip was speed i.e bleak / roach bashing so not sure on the elastic . Sorry
