Finding out about syndicates

Some 20 years ago, i used to fish a lake in Coombe Lane in Awbridge Hants, the rights were then owned by SPS club, which in recent years merged with TVAC. Back then, i used to watch some very big looking carp waft by, seemingly always on the surface, but never caught one. Since getting back into it i've been down there for a look and they're still on the surface, yesterday i must have counted 8 in about 5 mins, anyway its now run by a syndicate, there's no number up on the lake, i've tried emailing all the bigwigs at TVAC but no reply, and also tried asking in local tackle shop, but nobody knows.

I'd like to try get on this syndicate, if it isn't invite only, but running out of ideas on how to find out who its run by. Only thing i can think of is to keep popping down until i see someone fishing on it ?

Take your rod down there and start fishing, in no time at all I'm sure people will be telling you who runs it!

No don't think so mate. I don't think its ever really had a name.

It's quite unique in that i've never been to a lake that has so many good sized carp cruising at surface level.

Also, that awbridge danes lake i mentioned, i think thats where i used to walk my brothers dog years ago, it has a big roman temple at one end and has recently had millions spent on it opening it up by the new owner, i can't see how that is a day ticket fishery, reckon he keeps it all to himself.

Re: Finding out about syndicates

Reason i asked for the name mate as at the end of the month me and a group of local anglers have a match at Whitehouse lakes and this is a Syndicate lake at Awbridge.
All i can remember about it is that it is a nice looking lake with plenty of nice carp and tench in it and you have to drive down a track to get to it.
Was gonna say i will enquire as to who runs it or perhaps you could tag along.
As its only a bit of a fun match and they are normally a good laugh.

Re: Finding out about syndicates

Well, if thats the lake on cooks lane, its within walking distance of the one i mean.

Here's a map (ps, mods if this isnt a good idea feel free to delete it)

See where it says Awbridge ? Just below that is the water you mean (i think), go south west from there on that lane, over the b3084 then its on the right. I wonder if they're both run by the same syndicate ?

Also, Awbridge Danes it turns out isnt an available water any more, its been bought and had millions spent on it so i hear.
