Several questions... When not flyfishing, I spin cast wide creeks and lakes of Yellowstone with a 1/16 oz lure for trout. What is the best ultalight rod (maker, model and length) to handle this size lure and get great distance on the lakes? What line (make, test) is recommended for this size lure? The rainbows and cutts in the lakes are huge (up to 30 inches) but very fussy. They do hit on 4 pound test but then they are tough to land. Is there a great ultralight rod model that breaks down for hiking and travel or should I just go with a 2 piece? Thanks

Re: Several questions... Shimano have a rod out a 6ft spinning rod breaks down into 2 pieces will cast 1/16oz a reasonable way in the right conditions, for my light work (1/16oz lead size 18hook) i use berkely fireline in 4lb test and can get fish (chub mainly) to 30/35cm the rod will handle lines to 8lb and 1/2-1oz leads it isnt however good if you are wishing to see every knock (from very small fish) when legering with maggots etc, it retails for about $12.99 I got mine from Longs but I have seen them for around the same price in places like wal-mart etc

Re: Several questions... Thanks for your response... Berkley Fireline is a good tip... I'll certainly try that.
