quiver/feeder/avon

ok guys and girls i'm getting confused
when on hols most peeps were fishing for bream and carp with feeders and soft top rods
sol i tried this using my float rod (as someone else was)and although is soft not sure is right
well i brought a quiver rod when I started back on the darkside in april but cant get on with it (as not screw seat and somehow just feels wrong ) so shop have said will take back as part x(only loosing £2 so chuffed)
question is what is/are the diferences in these types of rod, do they all do the same? and whats best to get, I want a good allrounder that wont break the bank
cheers
dave

Re: quiver/feeder/avon

I m a bit confused as well

You said you got a quiver rod and could not get on with it . What promblems did you find mate

Quiver rods are great for fishing the lead and the best type are ones that come with say three different tips ( each one will have a different wieght ) so you can use them on rivers ponds ect

I have not bought one for a long time so could not say what is hot

You get several versions of the rod

Think sea fishing rods and you have different ones for heavy work ect . THis is the same with feeder rods as they are rated to i.e if your lumping out have swimfeeders 60 yrds then you will then need a powerful feeder rod . But if just fishing 1/2 oz then light system is the one to go for

God Ive confused myself now but hope it helps abit

Re: quiver/feeder/avon

Believe they're all the same type of rod mate. The John Wilson Avon rod is supposed to be superb, but I think it's 160 odd quid.

Like Richard says, get 1 with 3 tips as have more choice that way

Re: quiver/feeder/avon

ok i think the rod i got is just too sensitive and thats before a tips put on plus stuggle with reel slide clips
think made thread confusing myself
was more really difference between a feeder and an avon both seemed pretty much the same
will prob get 3 tipped feeder
