Re: open end feeder rig

Well the simple way is to use them in a running lead rig (same setup as using a lead)

With open end swimfeeders make sure you do not have your mix to compacted into the swim feeder other wise the feed will not break down and just stay in the feeder

Good things with open ended feeders is that you can build up you bed of bait quickly

I. E Cast out leave for a minute and give it a few twitches and retrieve. Do this about five times and then you know that your area is baited up

With all swimfeeder fishing accuracy is the key as you must cast to the same spot ever time or you will not get any advantage of using a feeder

Re: open end feeder rig

Agree with Richard with the running rig. Much safer on the fish.

Remember, keep things simple. Don't overload the feeder, and match the hook size to the bait you're using.

What species are you after?

Re: open end feeder rig

Size 10 may be a bit big for maggots mate. It's ok for worms, but unless you're putting a lot of maggots on, a size 14 or 16 would be better. Worm/caster cocktail is a great bait for bream.

In the groundbait mix, add a lot of mollasses if you can get it...bream love it

Hope you bag a few
