Fishing "guru" needed

Hi there all,
at the moment i am in China on the last months leg of my "1 year around the world trip".In March i bought a rod in New Zealand and have since tried my luck fishing in Australia, thailand, Vietnam and China. My only one success was a squid caught off Kho Phangan in thailand. So....as you can gather i'm pretty useless and wondered if their were any experiened Fishermen/women who were living in the Plymouth area of Devon who wold be willing to met up and show us some of your skills (all help greatly appreciated). Well i'm due back to cold "blighty" in September, so let us know.
