eel fishing in the rain

I fancy going eel fishing tonight, the only thing is that it has been bucketing it down all day.
does the rain help or hinder eel fishing?????.....i really dont know, so any advice that is forthcoming would be much appreciated.

i was told by some1 once that he went out in a thunder storm to do some work on the river and all the eels had thier heads out the top of the water, he said it was very strange, scared him a little bit i think

When the bankside is really wet, they'll crawl out of the water and move to different lakes/water holes etc.. (doesn't happen all the time though) Weird little boogers

i caught a 4lb 10oz a couple of months back and the fight was great,
i got some good pics of it.....just a shame i am grinning like a village idiot on them

Some nice pics there and a nice fish to match. All the eels i catch wouldt easily be swallowed hole by that one of yours!!

the funny thing about it is most anglers up here are crazy for eel fishing but most never see one over 2 lb.
then lucky bstd that i am catches a 4lb on the third time out lol.
no matter were we are in the world englishmen rise to the challenge
