Can anyone recommend a decent mosquito repellant. I have tried a few now but I am still being munched!! Most of the lakes at this time of the year have this problem! I have also tried taking vitamin E, but this only helps stop the itching! Many thanks ![]()

Re: Help I'm Being Eaten!! Hi mate, you wanna try and get something with a lemon extract in it. You can get them from chemists, but I honestly can't remember what it is. It may actually have to be lime extract. Sorry to not be certain but it may help a little __________________ Dan `·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸ Big or small, look after them all! ¸.·´¯`·.¸ ><((((º>

Re: Help I'm Being Eaten!! Hi DB&BD, Ask you wife to buy "Avon, Skin - So - Soft" (Woodland Fresh) It works wonders. I heard about it a few years ago, and since I have been using it I have never been bitten. Before that I used to get eaten alive. Cheers Drew __________________ All that Glitters is not Gold

Re: Help I'm Being Eaten!! I've heard the avon thing here too, try it. I've also heard that vanilla extract works too, the real vanilla is too expensive here, the artificial works fine, esp. for knats. Don't you guys have comercial bug repellants over there? Anything with the highest concentration DEET works great! We're having a problem in the states with "West Nile Virus" spread by mosquitos. Its killed too many older folks, several race horses and tons of birds. If you find a dead bird anywhere call the county extention office and they'll come pick it up for testing. The individual states have really worked to clamp down on it, spraying and cleaning up standing water. I personaly haven't been bitten by a mosquito in prob. 3 years. However the black flies seem all too willing to take their place, and those lil'b@stds...bite hard...through clothes!! One thing. DO NOT use banana oil or eat bananas in the summer. I've met people who say its better than vanilla, but they're WRONG! It's an attractant (on me anyway) Good luck

Re: Help I'm Being Eaten!! i think i have tried most things, but after years of getting eaten alive every time out in the summer a mate of mine told me to get the stuff the british army uses, its called REPEL INSECT REPELLENT i get mine from a place called silvermans (http://www.silvermans.co.uk/Silver/docs/topframe.htm). now i never NEVER get any bites, the 100% deet is the best one it is great stuff. the only problem is that it is STONG stuff and maybe the fish can pick up the scent so i wear a pair of surgical gloves when i bait up. ...hope this helps...

Re: Help I'm Being Eaten!! If you use Deet make sure you have some kind of sweat band to stop it running in your eyes. This stuff can literally melt plastic and stings like mad if your sweat makes it run into your eyes or if you have any little scratches!!!
