Got A Match Coming Up

Hi Guys,
Wondering if you can help. I have my first Match coming up on Sunday, and its called a Carp Special, so i guess i need some good carp!
Can anyone give me good tips on bait, tackle, etc.

I bought some Maggots today, also bought a Five Metre whip, was £7 so i thought i'd have it!

Any Ideas?

You could write a book on catching carp (and many people have), using the Method, baggin' waggler, PVA bags etc. Maggots may catch a carp, but you'd have much better success with luncheon meat or sweetcorn on a hair rig and then boilies, preferably sweet-flavoured for this time of year . Good luck
