| Re: Advice needed! Welcome to the forum Scott ![]() I don't do much lure fishing, but when I do, I use a light spinning rod, 12lb line on a fixed spool reel (although you may prefer a baitcaster reel). Also some people prefer too use braid for spinning instead of mono. Lures that seem too work everywhere these days are Bulldawgs __________________ Dan `·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸ Big or small, look after them all! ¸.·´¯`·.¸ ><((((º> |

| Re: Advice needed! Welcome to the fishing forum Dans post above , about the line is the best way to start till you get there and fish it for a bit The great bit about fixed spools is you can play off the handle Think 15 lb mono or 20 lb braid and just spend sometime with your plugs/spinners and walk around the lock till you can build up a good picture of the water . Then you can start targeting the bigger pike with dead baits ect Looking forward to your post and pic on how you get on and good luck with the move __________________ Richard|Sea Fishing |Carp Fishing| Spud Gun | Zander fishing | Fishing Reports | Hunting Reports |
