Hi, can fishing help improve a person?

My father tells me that I am a good-hearted person, but it is my temper that ruins me. Does fishing have an benefits to ones personality? I have heard it can be very calming. I am thinking about taking fishing up. Has anyone experienced any benefits?

Re: Hi, can fishing help improve a person?

Hi Gavin,

I have a stressful job and my only way of relaxing is when I am fishing. I charter fish at least every other weekend, if I was lucky enough to live by the sea then I would be fishing every spare moment.

Where in London do you live? If you are anywhere near me, I could arrange for us to meet up and go fishing. I have already met with one of the other Forum members and we have gone fishing together. I think, if he agrees, that we have become good friends through this Forum. I also know that lots of the other members have met up with each other and have made good friends.

There is a Forum Fishing day out from Eastbourne on the 23rd of this month, I think that there may be a space, but you would have to check with AndyG.

Please dont be afraid to contact any of the members by PM, they will always be helpful.

Cheers

Drew

If you have a quick temper I would avoid spinning when there is weed in the water. All the best.

Re: Hi, can fishing help improve a person?

Thanks for all your advice guys. A fishing day sounds good. I have never been on a proper fishing trip before! I may come on it and see if that kind of life style could give me an outlet. How many places are left? and Who is AndyG?? Can I also bring my father along?
If there are any other members with some guidence or advice for me concerning the fishing world i'm considering to take part in, then let me know/

Re: Hi, can fishing help improve a person?

I have some kind of inferiority complex. I don't know if I would do well on these group fishing trips. I always feel that my entire family think of my sister as some kind of genius. I work the hardest and I believe I possess greater potential for greatness than she does, yet everyone perceives her as the one with the "x-factor." How can I establish my superority.
