Illuminated euro swinger

Hi all,

Just recently purchased two bite alarms, and two euro swingers.

Need some advice regarding the following:

1. I currently have braid on my reels, which makes the indicator slip off at the smallest pull of the line. Must I Increase the tension in the swinger by adjusting the black turn switch?

2. If I adjust the black turn switch I almost see no difference, beside that it keeps making a clicking sound. Is this normal or is it faulty?

3. Is the line suppose to slide through the indicator (two metal rods crossing), or should the indicator just move up and down (depending on how the fish is swimming), and pop off if the fish has swam or tugged to hard?

4. When do I engage the spring function (1 and 2) and why?

5. How do I use the counter weight (Why and how)?

I am going to do some fishing this up coming weekend and was wondering if you could help. I take my lines out to about 200 meters, and fish using boilie rigs.

Thanks for the help!!!!!!

The black dial at the base of the swinger should at its maximum setting make the line clip very stiff, on my set you have to give it a real tug to free the line. The line should pass through the indicator till you lift the rod.

The spring function is largely to add more tension to the arm for fishing long distance, we are talking 100's of yards so it is likely you wont need it.

The weight in the arm does the same thing, as a rule more range more weight will be needed to keep the line tight.

Bungz

Thanks for the advise!

Will try and adjust the tension again, by twisting the dial.

Yes you pull it out then twist.

I would prob stick to using the weight for upto 100 yards unless you are fishing fast flowing rivers.

The swingers are great but you can get them to have so much load you will move a 3 or 4 oz lead with them!

Re: Illuminated euro swinger

Bungz,

Wow that a lot of load to move that lead :)

Anyway I think that was my problem. I was trying to tighten the tension up without first pulling out the twist lever and then twisting.

Regards
