Fishing Gear Stolen - Birmingham Area

Hi all i am new to this site I thought Id come on here to let you know that ive had all my fishing gear stolen in a targetted break in, I am from Birmingham so if anyone out there is from the area keep extra vigilant and can you keep an eye out for anyone selling the below list of equipment:

Shimano Vengeance Barbel/Carp rod 1.5 TC
Shimano Aero Baitrunner reel
Drennan Red 12ft Carp Waggler
Maver Abyss 12ft Match
Abu Garcia Cardinal Match Reel x 2
Daiwa Infinity Table top carryall - contents included:
- loads of terminal tackle - mainly Korda, Nash, Gardner, Guru, a rig wallet with 20 odd hairs etc, PVA bags etc etc
XS Robo Arm (landing net handle)
Maver landing net
Bait bag - full of boilies Cream Cajouser shelf life x 1kg and pop ups / pineapple Trigga 1kg and popups / Pellets / Ground Bait etc etc

Theres prob £500 worth of stuff there and although none of it is that great i.e theres better tackle on the market im absolutely gutted and to be honest am going to find it hard to start building up my tackle again.

I'm very sorry about your tackle loss, It must be devastating.

There are some really low life brainless b******s out there who need to get a life. Lets hope they come unstuck and get caught.

Re: Fishing Gear Stolen - Birmingham Area

Thats harsh, and it is becoming very common sadly.

There is a big scene in the carp world for stealing tackle, got to remember some lads have a couple of grand sitting on their pods!

Was it stolen from a shed? Not insured?

Only thing I will say is least it isnt that pricey to build up a basic set of kit these days.

Re: Fishing Gear Stolen - Birmingham Area

Cheers for the response Bungz - to be honest i was getting to the stage with my fishing that i needed to upgrade to some proper carp rods so i guess im a little lucky i hadnt already done this and will now be more vigilant.

Your right about it being a common thing - fishing is probably the most expensive sport going and your right with 3 decent rods on your pod then there can easily be thousands of pounds there, i read in a magazine recently that a top angler had £10k worth of gear stolen.

At least my list to Santa will be nice and easy!!

Re: Fishing Gear Stolen - Birmingham Area

I had me holdall stolen a few years ago, someone just walked into the garage in daylight and walked off with it...a neighbour saw, but was too late to get downstairs to say or do anything.

Have you kept your eye on eBay.

If it's any consolation, it can be nice looking at and buying new gear, because you have to.

Re: Fishing Gear Stolen - Birmingham Area

Hi thanks for the response Cherry Tree its amazing how much front some of these people have - to just walk into someones garage like that is unbelieveable.

I will be keeping my rods and holdall in the house from now on !!

Agree with you about the new tackle - ive already been looking - definately going to buy some stronger carp rods - but would be tempted with another Shimano Vengeance rod - for the price of £89.99 with a decent Shimano baitrunner aswell i think its an excellent rod!!!

Re: Fishing Gear Stolen - Birmingham Area

Very sorry to read of your misfortune. Let's hope they get caught and properly punished. In the meantime, there are a lot of really good lads and lassies on this forum and I have no doubt that if anyone sees any suspicious gear appearing on ebay they'll alert you. Good luck in getting some new gear together; I'd be interested to know what you buy. Kind regards.
