| Re: my PB And when you get them scales Samantha, do you know how to weigh the fish without causing it undue stress? (Just hark at me; I sound like a bloomin' school teacher.) Kind regards. John R. __________________ Kissin' don't last! Fishin' do. |

| Re: my PB I've no doubt that a lot of experienced carp anglers will have their own favourite method of weighing these beauties, but whichever way you do it there are one or two points to be aware of. Firstly, if you put it in a suitably sized net or net bag make sure it is made of fine netting (not large holes). Otherwise the weight of a large fish pressing against the stringing can cause cuts to the fish itself! If the fish is of modest size you can simply pop it very carefully in a carrier bag and hang it on the scales. Remember, time is of the essence and all fish need to be returned to the water as swiftly as possible. Don't panic and rush it or you may cause accidental damage - just work calmly and smoothly. Above all else don't do what I caught two young lads doing just last week! They'd caught a nice sized tench and were trying to make a hole in the poor things upper lip so that they could hang it directly on the hook of the scales! See, Samantha? I DO sound like a teacher but I assure you I'm only trying to be helpful. Kind regards and I hope to see lots of your reports in the future. John R. __________________ Kissin' don't last!
