Re: Anyone spin for brown trout Yeh...we go spinning for trout on the river Tees every now and then. I have some tiny little silver spinners which are perfect and have caught me plenty. Stayed in a secluded log cabin called Shankwood Cabin near Longtown last year and fished the river Lyne that runs through the valley there. A 2 mile beat of beautiful river pools which are ideal for catching wild brownies on spinners. The sea trout come up there too. We always used to use live sticklebacks on the river Gaunless and catch brownies and eels all day long when we were kids.

Re: Anyone spin for brown trout My real favorite is throwing swimbaits like the YUM! Money Minnow for brownies. The biggest brown I've ever caught any other way was about 11 inches, while my smallest on a swimbait has been about 13 inches. I've caught them as big as 25 inches on that type of lure. __________________ 2012 species: 13 All-time species: 65 New species caught in 2012: white sucker, popeye shiner, white shiner

Re: Anyone spin for brown trout Chances are, if it swims in a river or creek in Virginia, I have tried (not always successfully) to catch it with a swimmer. __________________ 2012 species: 13 All-time species: 65 New species caught in 2012: white sucker, popeye shiner, white shiner
