What do you need for Xmas?

Now that Christmas is round the corner I have slipped into snivelling mode in the hope of getting the wife to buy me a 15ft trotting rod, ideally either a Greys 15' Prodigy VX SL Float rod, or one of Harrisons GTI 15ft hollow tip float rods; I haven't made my mind up yet as to which one I would prefer, they are both supposed to be excellent trotting rods which I can use for barbel and Chub but I need to look at both before I decide, and then do some serious Snivelling round the wife.

Knowing my luck she’ll get me some socks. LOL

What angling equipment have you set your mind on getting this xmas??
(with any luck the other half will be looking over your shoulder while you reply).

Re: What do you need for Xmas?

I desperately need a new rod case. The one I have is one that was handed down to me that was new when Harold Wilson was in his pomp.

It's falling to bits - not very gracefully.

The zips have lost the puller bits, so they're really tricky to open and close. T

The carrying handle thing fell off long ago. The shoulder strap still works though, but it's really heavy and uncomfortable.

I've gradually replaced most of my ancient hand-me-down tackle and this rod case is the most glaring eyesore remaining amongst the slick & smart modern stuff.

Re: What do you need for Xmas?

scrooge tips for begginers

put a cable tie in the puller part, dont pull it tight leave a large loop, perfect for working the zip.

ref: weight, try leaving some gear at home, thats what probably snapped the handle in the first place.

this time next year you could be a millionairre

Re: What do you need for Xmas?

Hi All,

My trick is to make my wife feel sorry for me, i tell her what i want for xmas as she doesnt like that. She goes if you tell me i wont get it(yer right not im my book).
So i tell my wife about a month or so before xmas what i would like and then i pretend my fishing buddys take the pi** out of me as my stuffs old (not)and that i really need it because its the in thing and you would be the bestes wife ever in the whole world ha ha ha ha.

I sound spoilet probly but hey it hasnt let me down yet and always end up with what i wanted lol.

Give it a go good luck

Andy
