Hi, I'm relativley new to angling, can anyone help me with float fishing in a lake in quite deep water! I want to put a float stop on my line for about 10ft of water but how do I do this as when I reel in to cast the stop will get caught in the small rod eyes, and I cant cast with 10ft of line out! Any answers much appreciated! Also can anyone give me a picture or description of a good carp set up from float to hook! Thanks!

Re: Float fishing in deep water have a look at the polaris float 3 sizes, can be used with a feeder or lead, works at any depth of water, bites are very easy to see, and good fun to use. can be used for carp as well __________________ good luck and tight lines chris lifes to short for animosity.

Re: Float fishing in deep water I fished waters in the late sixties "not that it has any bearing, the sixties that is"20ft and more, winter fishing could be great in them old gravel pits. We used home made sliding floats around a foot or more long to beat the drift with balsa tips of different boyancy for the conditions. These floats we designed to go under or lift at least 9 inches using one aa on the bottom. Always used a sliding knott with longish tails.
