white fish in a canal?!

hi,
went fishing this morning at the canal, and i looked at the water and i could see a white fish, swimming slowly, i thought i was going mad, cos it looked like a white koi carp with black spots, any ideas on what it could be?

could be what you just said, sometimes ornimental fish end up in canals/river due to floods or people

It probably is a koi, one that grew too big and was illegally dumped into the canal.
