Re: Maggots!

down south we prefer bronze, especially for chub, tench, roach, assorted cols for change baits, just a handfull.

or buy 1/2 pt each of whatever colours he has, keep separate, and use each colour for 1/2 an hour, see which ones work best.

caster and hemp also a good combination. loose feed hemp sparingly, caster on hook, large hemp also on hook will normally catch better sized fish.

Re: Maggots!

red maggot can often tempt a bite when whites etc fail. i use mostly reds when bream fishing or after perch.

Re: Maggots!

alot of shops riddle off their old maggots and throw them all in together when fresh ones arrive and sell them as mixed. always buy your reds or whites seperate.

saladdodger has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Re: Maggots!

from what i have read/watched and tried, a good mix is best, red seem to work a tad better, i think.

Ive just bought some hemp and halibut pellets in a size 3mm and 8mm, also soft hook pellets, im gonna try for bigger fish on saturday.
