Brand names on shirt

Hello, I have a question that you might think is dumb, but here goes. I have thought of making a shirt to go fishing, that has the names of some of the brands of my fishing gear on it. I thought I could print off the brand names on an iron-on sheet, and iron them on to the shirt. My question is this. May a person go to a website, and copy the brand name and/or logo off of the company's website, and paste it into Microsoft Word, for example, and print it off for use on the shirt, or would I have to ask permission of each company in order to legally use the name/logo? This would be for personal use, not to sell or anything..... Thanks! Claudio

Re: Brand names on shirt

Thanks a lot! It's a good thing I asked, I'd rather not be in trouble because of a shirt. Claudio

Re: Brand names on shirt

When I lived in Germany there was a guy who was a massive supporter of Borussia Dortmund. He went to the extreme of painting his Artic lorry in their colours.....they sued him!!! He had to pay for the spray job, the respray, court cases and a fine to B.D.

He don,t support them anymore either!

Re: Brand names on shirt

If it was for personal use, ie you made one shirt and wore it yourself, you would never come to any harm over it. If you were flogging them on eBay that's different.

It takes allot of money for a company to prosecute anyone over copyright issues.

I used to live near the all weather race court in wolves, could see a fat bloke every week touting dvds lol

Saw him get taken away in a police car on several occasions, always came back though to the same spot!
