Question what reel to get

I need a new reel and don't know which one to get. I do mostly trout fishing but also some piking during the colder months. Could someone recomend me a reel That would suit both within the 100 pound range.

Thanks Mark

Re: what reel to get

I do a little but mostly use maggot, worm and deadbaits for pike.

Re: what reel to get

That's a pretty broad use for one reel!

Smaller baitrunners are great for all round work.

Re: what reel to get

Have a look at the Okuma range of bait runners before you decide.
I've been really pleased with the 2 I've got.

Re: what reel to get

Its a tall order having a reel for those two types of fishing as they are at opposite ends of the angling spectrum but I have an Okuma Sylvara Pro reel. Only cost about £25.00 and it is ideal!! It is a baitrunner but small and compact unlike most bulky baitrunners. I have landed double figure pike on it and also used it for winter spinning on rivers. You will need to order a 2nd spool, they are nice deep spools so you can load one with a good strong line for the pike and something a bit lighter for your trout fishing. For the price, its a really good all round reel.
