| who wants to take me fishing? Scotland! Hello all! I have lived in a few countries but was in aberdeen for 9 years, and I fished for trout then. I recently came back to scotland, now in Stirling. Having lived in the Caribbean though, and experienced some powerful powerful fish, I don't think I can go to the tiddlers that call themselves fish - stocked rainbow trout. They really don't fight at all, most of them. Also having tasted more of the sport side of fishing rather than the tranquil relaxation side, I don't think I can go back to fly fishing. Plus fly fishing is expensive!! A lot of fishermen say "oh i dont mind if i catch or not - as long as i'm out with nature enjoying the scenery" or something similar. Although yes, being in the outdoors and on the water is indeed a nice experience, when I go fishing, I go to catch fish! The more the better!! Serious fish that pull back! None of these stocked trout that give up after 1 pathetic run that I thwart with 6lb line! So if there is anyone around Stirling, Stirlingshire, Falkirk, Glasgow, or anywhere within, say, a £6 train fare that appreciates fishing in a similar way to myself, give me a shout! Whether its for pike, trout, perch - whatever - I'd love to join you! I MISS FISHING!!        |
