Pole for under £50 Hi all I'm looking to buy my first pole but I don't want to spend over £50 for my first pole, I have been looking at the Maver Abyss and the White Knuckle 6mt... Which one would be better or is there a better pole for a similar price which I have overlooked, cheers for looking. __________________ http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/2232/123abc8td.jpg Many thanks to EYEREX for the sig...

Re: Pole for under £50 Dragon Carp Direct do an 11m one for £50 that a recent review in a magazine (can't remember which one) said was a good pole if you used it at 8m. 11m was too floppy. Their site doesn't appear to be working just now so I can't find any further details. http://www.dragoncarpdirect.com/

Re: Pole for under £50 Was informed to steer clear of the Dragon Carp/Avanti stuff when I asked a similar question about poles on this very forum. So I bought a Daiwa SR1 11m for £145. Seemed like a decent pole but, had it 8 months now and one power kit is cracked and the No 4 section shattered the other week with a decent carp on the hook. So who knows, the Avanti stuff might be just as good anyway. I can say that the White Knuckle is a good little margin pole and also, if you can still get them, the Middy Rythme Stik - 7 meters, strong and responsive with 2 top kits.

Re: Pole for under £50 If you can spend just a little bit more I have heard good things about the Middy White Knuckle. Not got one personally but the reviews seem to be pretty decent for it.

Re: Pole for under £50 I Know Someone Whos Got A White Knuckle 6mtr Margin Pole. There Great For The Value. You Can Pick Them Up Online For £35. But You Would Wanna Put New Elastic In It. My Girl Friend Has The White Knuckle Thriller Its The 8mtr Pole. It Is A Little More Money At £65. Again Needs New Elastic In It, What It Comes With Is Rubbish. Both The White Knuckle And White Knuckle Thriller Come With Two Top Kits. The Good Thing With The Middy Poles Is The Universal Drennan Top Kits Fit. Ive Personnaly Just Brought A 7mtr Sensas For £44.99 Comes With 1 Top Set But Extra Top 2's And A 3rd Section Only Costs £10. http://www.sensasmatch.com/carpxandpoleking/index.html

Re: Pole for under £50 I'm quite keen to get one myself so all this feedback is great. The Middy White Knuckle seems to come out well in reviews. Not sure if 8m is enough, although its ideal for margins but I think I would want to be able to cover a little further out, but then I suppose that's what the rod is for. Also are these ok for carp up to 20lbs?

otherwise you pay out for short pole, then pay even more for longer pole. longer pole cheaper in the long term __________________ good luck and tight lines chris lifes to short for animosity. |
