| New Strap for Seatbox Hi - not sure if anyone could give me some advice on this one. I have a very old metal seatbox, which was passed on to me by a family member years ago. It still works fine despite being a bit battered. The only downside is that it has a broken strap which has been tied into a knot at some time in the past. That damnblasted knot cuts into my shoulder too much when I'm walking down to the river. I would like to replace it, but don't know where to begin. The box is called 'Albatros Sportvisser'. Yes, I know. Not one of the big names. I tried googling it, but zero results. The strap is just regular strapping, maybe 2cm wide. I just need a good long length of it with a method for joining together the two loose ends (a method that will not be a knot!). If it had one of those padded shoulder things too, then that would be great and would stop me from walking on a slant with one shoulder dipped for the next three days after any fishing session! Thanks in advance for any advice. |

| Re: New Strap for Seatbox A padded strap for a shakespeare beta box ,would probably be ideal ,widely available on a well known internet auction site (4.99 + 1.99 P&P)or your local tackle shop . ![]() __________________ Mike.. | Re: New Strap for Seatbox Thanks for the advice. I'm not sure the Shakespeare one would go through the guides on the box, but the idea about using an old seatbelt gave me ideas. I've ordered up this car roof rack luggage strap which seems to be about the right length and width. Now I'll have a look around the charity shops to see if I can find an old holdall or something similar which has a padded shoulder bit I can thread on to it. Ahhhh fishing on the cheap! Nothing like it. |

| Re: New Strap for Seatbox I think your best bet would be to 'doctor' one like the shakespeare one Mike suggested , by either cutting the strapping or modifying the box to attatch it . rucksack frames, golf bags .. the list is endless for those that like to modify thier seat box etc ![]() __________________ Shore Species 2012: Dab-Flounder-Herring-L.S.Dogfish-Pouting-Shore Rockling-5 Bearded Rockling-Small Eyed Ray-Turbot-Whiting |
