Re: float fishing

From personal experience its possible to attract larger species but if any of us knew how to just attract the bigger fish we would be known as Jesus lol ..
If the water holds a large head of different sized fish then its just a numbers game - the more you hook , the more chance you have of a biggie .
I did find when i was targetting bream and bigger roach that i was getting them on the bottom with ledger tactics but without knowing the water you are fishing i cant really suggest any tactics !
If you let the more experienced coarse anglers know your venue , baits etc im sure they will be more than able to guide you

Re: float fishing

There are so many different methods and tactics you couldn't write them all down here. Try buying Angling Times or another course fishing mag. They have hints and tips in every week that are easily explained and you can put them to the test when you next go to the bank. Or simply look on the internet - type in 'float fishing for carp' or something similar in google and a nation of sites will come up full of all the methods you will need with videos, pictures and diagrams.
It's good that you have already had Tench, perch and roach after just a week - I didn't catch anything decent for ages when I first started fishing. Good luck!!
