I have just cut my weekend short here, didn't even manage to get my line wet. There are a group of regulars who are left to run riot, after being asked at 01:30 to turn their 'dance' music down again they began threatning my wife!

The manager didn't check the site at night until I had to go get him, and also refused to remove these regulars, he also didn't bother coming back round the next morning.

Unless you like being kept up until all hours and threatened I would avoid at all cost.

No refund, no resolve and no interest in sorting the situation.

I'm a still fuming, spoke to the manager this morning to tell him I had spoken to the police, his response was that other people on site didn't mind them-probably because they are all part of the same family. Had no intention of asking them to leave, lost out on a lot of business as a group of me and friends usually go away a few times a year and they had asked me to look at this place!

Anyone got any suggestions for anything near Plymouth with camping on site?

Not the first time I have heard bad reports about this place. I used to be interested in giving it a go as it was close to where I grew up but sounds like its one to avoid.

If they dont do anything about the problems then I can't see how it will ever get more interest, therefore more money, therefore be able to afford to improve!

Is he the owner? or just the Manager? if he's just the manager why don't you call the owner and let him or her know the bad reputation it must be getting them from anglers over the web, and the money he or she might be losing from anglers in the long run by letting an idiot like that manage their campsite. Especially as they have spent a lot of their cash on trying to improve their site.

He should have given them a strern warning and threatened to have them removed unless they stopped upsetting other people fishing on the site.

Its a shame when a fishing campsite is run by such an idiot.

Also leave an honest review on their < web site > giving dates etc.

I never really understood why you would go fishing to get hammered and listen to a boombox, surely the whole point is to get away from that crap.

I am with BoldBear, get in contact with the person who owns the place, let them know exactly how it is being run (ruined) by the manager.

Oh and just so you know google has indexed this thread, search for "kingsmead centre cullompton" and you get a link to here about 4 clicks down. See how they react to being told or shown that.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience.

I would leave a comment as suggested for others to see. I suspect it's not just happened to you.

When you ask about other lakes and camping with out sounding thick is that bivvying up on the lake or a caravan?
