Exeter Canal Hi guys, Any fellow fishermen located in the south west know the weed situation of Exeter Canal? Got to hang around for the day while the mrs is at work on wednesday so was thinking of a spot of lure fishing for pike/perch.

Re: Exeter Canal Check out the This is Exeter website and the angling section, there are weekly reports on how the Canal is fishing and they have said recently that its weedy with the swingbridge area producing the best catches. Also check out the EDAA website

Re: Exeter Canal Thanks for the heads up guys. Took a walk down the canal and saw how weedy it was so decieded to fish the free stretch from the basin to double locks. Would rather have fished my favourite section from countess wier to turf locks but not really worth parting with money I dont have for only a few hours! Not much happening really, one jack on the bank and a couple of follows, better than sitting in front of the tv all day at the in laws though!!

Re: Exeter Canal Free stretch? I guess you mean free as you dont need to pay for the Exeter Council permit? Is any of the river covered by that?
