my local river ( well one of 5 )

as a sea angler and someone who hasn't coarse fished since Germany i still get the bug when i walk past the town centre and see stretches of water like this

Not 2 minutes walk from the city centre , i thought i'd share just a couple of pics of the river Avon on its way into Salisbury ...

We used to trot bread down the river at a similar stretch and pull in massive trout but im pretty sure the baillifs might not take too kindly to this nor the local purist fly anglers who no doubt pay a small fortune to fish around these parts

Looks stunning mate, wish i had some nice one local, all i have is the Ribble, thats a good hour away and mainly private/syndicate.

theres a river near me that holds trout and three syndicates that own different stretches but not in the town centre thats completley free fishing as long as your not set up to fish for trout that is have a butchers might be the same story near you
