| how to make maggots last longer ok i wanna make maggots last longer than 2/3 days if im lucky i do keep em in an outside toilet on the floor no i cant use a fridge , she,d kill me  lol any other ideas i dont mind some turning as i can use em for feeding     |

| Re: how to make maggots last longer get a freezer bag from sainsburys and a load of freezer blocks, then make sure the bag has a few new freezer blocks every day. should get a few days longer out of the wrigglers that way :) |

| Re: how to make maggots last longer As above for the freezer blocks, the maggots need to be kept below about 10 degrees to become sedated. Also if you intend keeping for longer than about 2 days, it may be worth sieving them, and putting them into some fresh bran to absorb any moisture and prevent that horrible bleach type smell. As a rule the dryer and colder they are, the better they last. I have had them last over 10 days with care. | Re: how to make maggots last longer I got a second hand fridge and put it in my garage. It's currently stocked with beer, buckfast and maggots! My maggots last weeks in there. I also got myself a free chest freezer for the garage, its got loads of frozen pizzas and stuff like that in it, as well as a collection of dead baits! |
