Definately a roach I'd say only ever caught half a dozen or so but used hundreds for pike bait!!

Re: what is this fish? new link!!

What bait are you using Sam?

I'm no expert course fisherman, I fish for predators but when fishing for roach, bream, chub ect.... I've had alot of luck using sweetcorn as a hookbait fished over hemp as grounbait.

Not saying this is the best method, the more experienced guys will be able to reel off a long list of possible baits but always seemed to work for me!

Re: what is this fish? new link!!

Yeah I've always struggled to get bread to stay on the hook but i'm used to rigging up dead fish with twin trebles, not so good at the fiddly stuff!!

Some of the flavoured pellets are good, I had a fair bit of luck on strawberry flavour but it starts to get expensive then, much better when you can use what you can find in the cupboard

What species are you targeting, or is it a case of anything that will take!!
