Re: Cormorants ~ save our fish

I fished a syndicate water about 15 years ago that had a large population of these birds, a island on the lake was white with their waste.

The water was full of big bream and pike. The bream fishing stayed well but the pike were literally starving, i remember once throwing 3 old dead baits in the water catching a pike to find all three baits still in its mouth!

Sad times and nothing was done.

It was horrific looking back (i was just a lad at the time). They wreck the natural food chain.

The only way to get any livebait was to fish under bushes and trees out of the way of the cormorants.

I wouldnt like to say what id do if I was in the same position now.
