Re: finding it hard

Have you tried fishing a different swim? You never know, moving around the lake or up river to new spots can make all the difference. Feed alternative swims up a little first and then if you not catching in the usual spot, move on to another baited area and the fish might just be there waiting for you!! If the water is clear, try clouding it up a bit with groundbait mixed dry or really sloppy - sometimes gives the fish more confidence to feed and take your hookbait. Good Luck!!

Re: finding it hard

just change tactics mate if your using bright boilies that have unnatural smells like pineapple or tutti fruti etc. Try using dark boilies, fishmeal, meat flavoured etc! I normally use spicy tuna and sweet chilli or king crab with mackerel groundbait mixed with hemp on a method feeder! If that dont work sweetcorn a stack of sweetcorn and a fake pop up on top normally works with a small amount of sweetcorn around it, so they eat some of the bait first and know its safe, then dont hesitate to take yours. I that dont work try a new rig, chod rigs work best for me ive had most of my big carp on the chod although my PB carp at 31lb 4oz on the river was caught on a hair rig, stack of sweetcorn!

Hope it helps mate

Re: finding it hard

At least your catching something. Keep chipping away at it, try different tactics and baits and soon enough you will get what you want - its not always easy or predictable. I fished our regular venue yesterday in the usual favourite swim and my dad came along and fished just along from me. I caught 4 carp, a tench and some nice sized roach whilst he had nothing, using same baits and tactics as me - You cant work it out!! Good luck!!

Thats a shame! But if their still around thats good news if your old swim has got really weedy then get down their with a pair of sheers i just done it on a local stretch. Havent fished it yet just pre baiting with maize and hemp but the carp are on the show and some of em are 20+ easily!
