Inexpensive groundbait - ready to use

I am an Irish angler after a cheap bulk groundbait (as a replacement for bread crumb), that can be used straight from the sack without the need for pre-soaking or boiling etc. It will mainly be used for bream and tench fishing (including prebaiting).

Can chicken layers mash be used straight from the sack and balled/catapulted in? I will probably also add some flaked maize, but am more concerned to find a cheap alternative to breadcrumb for the main ingredient.

Hi Reyes
Layers mash won't bind on its own , you will need either groud soya , grond maize and some white crumb .Baileys No I horse feed (bread based)
is a great binder but can be a tad expensive although cheaper than white crumb.Take it easy on flaked maize as it stops you making really firm balls . Putting some fish meal in also helps binding and flavour but again can be exspensive .I mix at least tweve hours previous to using as I find the longer it soaks for the better it is .If tenct are your quarry put some diced coconut in your mix ,helps breaks the balls down and Tench love it.
Tight lines Breamer
