| Expanda pellets, they sink then they float. OK, I realise that it is 2011 and expander pellets and pumps have been around for a while. I also realise that I have got a huge amount of catching up still to so after having only really got back in to my coarse fishing in the last four years or so. I am still having a whale of a time and enjoying just about every minute of it. Last night I went to a lake that holds loads of carp and made a complete hash of fishing it BUT I learned a hell of a lot in the process. There is one mystery though. having decided to use expanding pellets (not marked as floaters) and having bought a pellet pump I went equipped with some pellets I have pumped at home. When I pumped them (three times just to make sure), they sank. So I put them in a sandwich bag and got to the lake. I added a few to the groundbait along with some soaked micro pellets, maggots and sweetcorn. I plumbed the depth (not thoroughly enough) and identified the spot I was going to set the trap in. I then mixed three or four large orange sized balls of groundbait and dropped them on the dinner table. I put two more in on the near shelf bottom . I then spotted what looked like instant bubbling which I though was too heavy to be the groundbait. My heart sank. So I dropped a tangerine size ball in the margin and all the feeder pellets (not the micro , the expanders ) FLOATED. They weren't doing that half an hour ago. So , what did I do wrong ? Cheers. __________________ Just remember, not all the heroes died. www.helpforheroes.org.uk |
