Kingfisher Reel Spool Compatibility Interchangable?

Hi Folks

My main reel is a Kingfisher 400X reel and although its not particularly fancy, I really enjoy using it. But I would like at least one, maybe two spare spools for it to load different lines. At the time I bought it, cashflow issues meant I didnt buy any spares. Damn.

It seems nowadays that Kingfisher reels are hardy seen anymore outside of ebay (were they made by others I wonder then badged up for such as Argos?)

The ones on ebay seem to mainly be the 1000X or 300X I never ever seem to see the 400X

So does anyone know if the spools are compatible at all please?

Did they make one or two different spools and just stamp different graphics/names on them? Or did they have a different spool for every model of reel?

No idea myself so though somebody out there may have experience of the Kingfisher range or even maybe have some reels to test how they fit.

Thanks for any advice that can be given
Cheers
Alex

Re: Kingfisher Reel Spool Compatibility Interchangable?

Hi folks
Not trying to bump this post, only want to add the answer for future searchers.

The answer is nope not compatible.
I bought a 300X from ebay and have tried it, the spools are a different diameter but also surprisingly have a different fitting as well, so a complete no-go. Still the new 300X reel is nice and was a good price so I havent lost out.

Good to post the answer for future people thinking the same question.
Cheers
Alex
