confused

i thought joining the forum would open up a whole new world of fishing chat new friends and info but its proved to be the opposite . have answered threads but nothing seems to materialise.......am i expecting to much or just doing something wrong.is there a current conversationgoing on in anyof the forums at this moment.....i could find none . the amount of viewings to a post seem to far outweigh the replies .

I only reply if im absolutly sure of my answer. I still concider myself a novice so dont reply to much, I leave it to the expierenced guys!

Either you are getting confused as to what THIS forum is about or you are expecting online chat? This is a forum for people who live their lives and love fishing, it's not an online chat for people who sit in front of a screen all day and wouldn't know the difference between a tench and a blue shark or who only get their fishing knowledge from the latest catalogue. Modesty aside there are a lot of bloody good anglers on this forum who are very willing to share their knowledge and time BUT this forum is not what they are watching every minute of the day. I don't want to drive people away from here but have to say this forum is characterised by good humour , banter but above all respect for the people that contribute. If what you want is continuos online chat (while the rest of us are out there fishing and living our lives) then, as loath as I am to say it, this may not be the forum for you.
If you want to be patient, respectful and contribute then this is. Whatever you decide , tight lines and all the best.

Keef - check out the Shoutbox on the homepage - and in particular some evenings, as there are a couple of regulars on their chatting sometimes - usually just before they go fishing, or just after they have been fishing, or even when they actually are fishing via mobile phone etc lol , but as Barbel Blanker explained (and very well said too might I add) in his reply its not a forum for online chat as such.

I`ve been on a few forums, some good, some not so good. Each had their share of verbal hatchet men, guys who mostly sat at a keyboard all day, waiting for their next victim to post. The difference with this forum, is there are no keyboard assassins, just guys that go fishing and share their experiences with the rest of the members. On no other forum would you get sea, freshwater and fly anglers congratulating each other on catches, days out and effort, or sharing days when we blank? Add to that the wealth of knowledge and what you have is almost the perfect forum. I think if you read posts from the different sections you may get an idea of the nature of the forum.
