Foul Hooking A question for you all, I have recently been fishing the "Lift Method" and been getting proper lift method bites, but the last 4 Carp I have caught on it have been foul hooked at the base of the tail fin, until these 4 Carp, I cannot remember the last time I foul hooked anything and I am at a total loss as to answer. All 4 of the bites were the float zooming up, then sliding away at a rapid rate of knots. Any ideas as to my problem would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks - CT.

Re: Foul Hooking Thats strange, Did you have a bed of freebies on the bed near the bait? Perhaps the Carp were suspicious of the bait and were trying to lift the baits off the bottom before taking them by flicking their fins and bodies above them? I don't really know why that happened, just guessing. __________________ My Web Site (The Average Coarse Angler) Happiness is Fish Shaped (It used to be woman shaped but the wifes getting on a bit now)

Re: Foul Hooking As Boldbear says, they could be fanning the groundbait etc with tails and getting hooked that way. Have a look at Eddy's vids, they show you how the carp behave underwater, it may help? link below http://www.underwatersecrets.co.uk/ If you ask Eddy he may do an underwater video for the lift method for carp, as he his looking for ideas, - his link on this forum is below... Your ideas for my next Underwater Video please?
