Line Lay?

I just purchased a Abu Cardinal 403i and noticed after I loaded with some 8lb line that the line seems to be higher at the base of the spool compared to the front.

there a fair slope running from back to front compared to the other reels I have here. is this normal for this model reel or is there a problem somwhere?

Jasper

Re: Line Lay?

I Had A Problem With My Fox 10000 Stratos Coning. The Way I Got Around It Was By Adjusting The Shims And Putting More On The Front Of The Spool By Taking Them From The Back. Now The Line Lay Is Perfect.

Re: Line Lay?

change the washers under the spool mate
To set to wind more to the front.

Reduce the number of washers on the spool shaft.

To set to wind more to the back.

Increase the number of washers on the spool shaft.

Supplied with the reel is a pack of 3 small washers.

Many thanks for the replies

Spot on nick! there's three nylon washers under the spool as you mentioned sitting above the small cog. Just removed two at the moment to see how it goes.

Much apreciated
