Advice please on mid-Wales fishing

Afternoon.
The Mrs and I are of to Wales in a month to stay at some log cabins - it has a stretch of the Irfon running through it but I am aware that the coarse fishing season is now closed so I'm looking for some advice please. The camp site owner tells me that you can still fish for Trout and Grayling but I don't have any fly fishing kit - I have only recently bought some gear after 25 years in the wilderness (no, I haven't been inside - just married..) so I was wondering if there are any options? I obviously want to stay within the realms of the law but it seems such a waste to have a stretch of river at my disposal, it is near to Builth Wells and Llandovery so if anyone is aware of any local pools etc I would be very grateful for any info.

Moz.
